Where do I begin, as words cannot convey my gratitde to Dr Maksoud?! I have known Dr Maksoud since August 2007. My son, who was only 21 at the time, was diagnosed with a Macroprolactinoma in July 2007, which had initially been picked up at a routine optician’s appointment. As the tumour was caused by an excess amount of the hormone Prolactin, he very fortunately did not need surgery but was to be treated by medication. This is when we met Dr Maksoud, who as an Endocrinologist would take over David’s treatment with medication. This quite literally was one of the worst times of our lives and Dr Maksoud with his patience, concern, compassion and expertise got us through that time. To begin with as my son’s Prolactin levels were reduced from an extremely high level of 88,892 million per litre in August 2007, My son, together with myself and my husband, saw Dr Maksoud every month to begin with, then as his condition improved greatly, to every 6 months. My son has done remarkably well, he is totally transformed from the struggling, self-conscious and sickly young man who first met Dr Maksoud, to a happily married man who went on to achieve a Master of Arts Degree. Without any shadow of doubt, I credit Dr Maksoud with this transformation. I quite literally believe that he saved my son’s life and in my eyes, the man is a ‘saint’. He explained absolutely every detail of the treatment, constantly asking if we had any questions. We have never felt rushed, he has always put us at our ease and he is happy to answer any questions that I, in particular would have and believe me I had plenty to ask, as this was my child. My son could not be in better hands and he is still monitored by Dr Maksoud every 6 months. Since 2016, my husband has also been seeing Dr Maksoud as a patient. Dr Maksoud has diagnosed him with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME). He also has Neo Cardiogenic Syncope. Again, we have seen Dr Maksoud every 6 months since early 2016. My daughter-in-law is also a patient now. To summarise, I regard Dr Maksoud to be an absolute expert in his field, compassionate, jovial and a thoroughly decent, lovely man. He explains every aspect of the treatment, often drawing diagrams to help us ‘lay’ people understand. To put it another way, I do not know how old Dr Maksoud is, I am sure he is a lot younger than me, but I dread the day he says he is retiring, as I cannot bear the thought of him not being there for my family. I have trusted him with my child’s life and he has come good on that and long may his care continue.

I'm not entirely sure how much detail to put in this review but I will start by saying that I was treated by the NHS for 20 + years for PCOS and Thyroid and was left so ill, mentally and physically, that I just couldn't go on. Physically I was unable to leave the house for 14-18 days a month with such heavy bleeding due to my PCOS and that has a huge knock on effect on every part of your life. I quite literally wasn't living any kind of a life. I found Dr.Maksoud - I don't recall how - and within 3 months my life was transformed and I was living normally. Dr.Maksoud is kind, he listens to you, I have never felt anything but safe and trusting of him. He is certainly one of the greatest in this field in my opinion and I intent to continue seeing him until one of us can no longer make it!! If you need help I really think you have nothing to lose by getting a second opinion and I would say your very first stop should be Dr.Maksoud - I genuinely don't think you'll find finer help or better care.

I have had long term care under the supervision of Dr Maksoud over the last seven years, but my wife has also been under his care within the last five years as well. He has always listened very carefully to all aspects of our health concerns and supported us in recommending relevant medical and surgical interventions when we have needed them. Dr Maksoud goes the extra mile to provide care and support including outside of our consultation times with him when we have needed his advice. He has a holistic approach to his medical care looking at the whole of a persons health and mental well-being. We would strongly recommend him to others and have spoken very highly to our family and friends of the care we have received from him. He has always taken very seriously our concerns and are very grateful to him because he is accessible, approachable and very open to us discussing our health concerns without us feeling we are wasting his time. We would highly recommend him to others.

Where do you start with this incredibly kind, caring, sensitive, knowledgeable, very patient, friendly, funny Doctor. Oh if only there were more Doctors around like him, the world would be a better place. I met Dr Maksoud almost 5 years ago following a stay in hospital where the Drs were not sure what was really wrong and I was discharged with ? UTI. . However, I was still feeling so poorly and I felt there was something far more serious wrong. I had heard so many great things about Dr Maksoud through various people and so I sought his advice and oh I am so glad I did . From our first meeting, I was very impressed! Finally, I had found someone who actually listened to me and I mean really listened. This man is worth every penny of his fee - so never ever be put off by the charge. Trust me you will never find another consultant who gives you so much value for your money . At no time was I ever made to feel stupid, a malingerer, paranoid of feel rushed. Here is someone who actually really listens to you. What a breath of fresh air he was and is . Here was a man who actually wanted to help me. Dr Maksoud explained my condition so that I could understand what was going on (I’ve had a UAT for 20 years ) but it seems I actually have got Hashimotos disease. He realised my adrenals were causing a problem and I also had CFS. Over the next few months and then years we became good friends. Initially , I saw him very regularly due to how ill I was and I always looked forward to seeing him and still do. He is such a fountain of knowledge. I would say without hesitation that if you are unwell and want someone to actually listen to you and help you recover - then Dr Maksoud is your man!!!! I now see him at his rooms in Regent street, Nottingham but I think I would follow him wherever he went as he’s the only man I would trust with my health . When people ask me about Dr Maksoud - I say with great fondness - ah- yes the man who saved me.

Dr Maksoud, is so attentive, conscientious, thorough, and above all a saint. What a clever man, I totally trust him. He makes you feel that while you are in his care no one else matters but you. No consultant has ever given me so much time. I have struggled my way through 30s and 40s with terrible migraines and have seen various consultants along the way and none come anywhere near Dr Maksoud level of expertise. I can’t speak to highly of him and I would challenge anyone not to have this very high option of him too. My hero, don’t know what life would be like without him. X
